A holiday tablescape with a wafer cookie cake with sugared cranberries and Christmas gifts wrapped in Kraft paper and tied with a red velvet bow at each place setting.
This year, I have been so drawn to the classic traditional Christmas colors and feel. The reds and greens just feel so rich and nostalgic to me. I pulled together a little tablescape with this same feeling. It is full of warm candlelight, lush textures, and delicious accents.
A little present at each place setting is an easy and personal way to make guests feel special. I wrapped them with simple Kraft paper and tied them with a deep red velvet ribbon tied in a simple knot.
I have had the idea for this cake for a while now and was excited to finally get to make it. It is a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream, accented with wafer cookies and sugared cranberries.
You can find my sugared cranberry recipe here. The candlelight just makes it feel extra sparkly.
For the centerpiece, I just grabbed one bunch of greenery from the rocker store and tied it in a wreath shape. I laid it on the table, added cranberries and candles, and then put the cake in the middle. It was very easy, but added those pretty colors I love.
One of my favorite things about Christmas is just how cozy everything feels. And magical.

Is there anything like dining next to the glow of the Christmas tree?
I used mostly the things I had on hand to pull together this tablescape. I think that is why I love having neutrals on hand. It makes it super easy to pull together things like this when you have the basic key pieces to work with. And candles make everything feel more special.
