I am so thrilled to share a little bit of my home at Christmas night with all of the holiday lights glowing. We love our evenings together in these days leading up to Christmas.
It is hard to believe that this Christmas season is drawing to a close. It seems like the year passed by so slowly, and then the Holidays just seemed to fly by. I was going to take the typical pictures of our home at night, but it just didn't feel right shooing these little faces out of the rooms for me to take photos.
I have spent nearly every minute of the year worrying about, caring for, fighting for, protecting, sheltering, and teaching these little ones. This Christmas season has been such a welcome and joyous light. I can honestly say that I haven't ever had a Christmas that I needed and welcomed like this one.
If this year has taught me anything, it is that these babies are growing too quickly and it is so important to savor the moments with them.
Christmas Night Nativity Lantern
I try to make a little gift for all of you for Christmas each year, and this year it is this free printable vintage nativity lantern. It is so beautiful in person and a reminder of the reason for the season. I made it from a vintage image and I love that it has Mary caring so lovingly for her baby. You might also love these free printable Christmas village luminaries and free printable Santa sleigh + reindeer luminaries. It is a fun project to do to add magic and ambiance to your home this Christmas night.
Christmas Trees and Gifts
I kept the gift wrapping neutral in this room with the red and gold Christmas tree because the tree felt elegant and fancy enough on its own. I found these adorable gingerbread gift boxes and wrapping paper and I knew they would be perfect.
The kids squealed when they saw the nesting gingerbread gift boxes. I love how everything is so magical to them. I can't find them online anywhere unfortunately, but I have a lot of my other favorite gift wrapping in my amazon storefront.
My other trees this year were the neutrals and gold Christmas tree, the vintage red and green Christmas tree and the vintage toy tree. I really, really love decorating Christmas trees as evidenced by these 25 flocked Christmas trees.
These gingerbread boxes would be an easy DIY if you used a white marker on Kraft colored paper or boxes.
Candlelight
I always have these battery operated candles around the house and we use them the most with our Christmas night decor. The little ones love to help set them out or use them while singing our Christmas carols.
Reading Books for Christmas Nights
One of our favorite traditions is to read a Christmas story together each night in our jammies before bed (I compiled a list of our favorite Christmas books for children). We usually get comfy in a soft throw blanket and snuggle on the couch or floor together while we read. This is also a good opportunity for the kids to practice reading to each other.
It is so fun to see how much my littles enjoy each other when we are doing Christmas night things together as a family. To be honest, I will probably leave my decor and lights up until February this year. It has been a crazy year, so why not? And we all love the warm glow so much. There is something so peaceful and inviting about twinkle lights and Christmas trees.
Now if we can just make it a few more days without these gifts getting torn open by the littlest one. I double wrapped most of them and double taped the boxes underneath for good measure.
I hope you enjoyed a little peak of our home at night. Christmas nights are so special.
From my heart, I want you to know how thankful and honored I am for all of your kindness and support this year and I truly wish you so much love and happiness this Christmas and in the coming year.
