Christmas nights are my very favorite. When everything has a sparkle and glow it just feels magical, especially with the little ones. It seems like all of the decorations just come to life at night.
I aways add a little sparkle with my Christmas table decoration ideas and decorating my trees like this red and gold Christmas tree and this vintage red and green Christmas tree. The warmth of candles and twinkle lights make everything better.
I wanted to give you a glimpse into our home in the evening these days. These beautiful Christmas nights. I just love them so much.
We have been playing our lap harps (zither) a lot this holiday season. It has become a favorite around here and so much fun for all of us! It has really helped to make things feel like home here after our move.
This year I decided to decorate with a more elegant and natural Christmas decor. It seemed to just fit this year.
When I decorate for Christmas, I always add twinkle lights and candles to make everything cozy. One of the things I always make sure to do it mix real candles and faux in my decor. I light the real ones on special nights and keep the faux ones on timers so we can enjoy them all the time. They are the kind that flicker, so they feel really real.
We aren't big on electronics around here, so we tend to spend our time together in the evenings playing the zither, baking, watching old classic movies, reading, and going for drives to look at Christmas lights. With four little ones, it doesn't ever seem very quiet, but it is always fun.
It also seems like these nights are full of giggles and speculation about what Santa is going to bring this year.
Decorating for Christmas was fun this year after our move. It was nice to make our home feel more cozy and homey.
I always love to add a little greenery to my mantel. It is easy to create the most full and beautiful Christmas Garland with my tutorial. You can see my post with all of the details for the elegant Christmas fireplace mantel as well. This faux mantel has been my favorite thing to decorate here and was such a lucky Facebook find!
I kept things more on the simple side with my classic and elegant silver Christmas tree this year. It is the first time I have had a green tree (not flocked) in years. I have loved it, but also miss my flocked tree. I am glad I put up a flocked tree in my daughter's room though.
I made this DIY Tree Topper Star when I couldn't find one that I was looking for.
I love classic red and Green at Christmastime so much. They feel so deep and rich at night.
We love to make our favorite homemade hot chocolate recipe. It comes together and heats up so quickly that it doesn't seem to take any longer than the store-bought version.
We have begun our Christmas baking this year with gingerbread cookies and sugar cookies. We will be making much more to give out to friends! Good thing I have helpers. Well, they think their most important job is taste-testing.
I just want to hold onto these Christmas nights for a while longer this year. And I think I will for the darkest months of winter. I won't be in any hurry to take down my Christmas lights and decor this year. We just love them too much.
Yes, I definitely think we will make these wonderful Christmas nights last as long as possible.
You will love these other beautiful homes with their candles and twinkle lights.
