We made these beautiful vintage inspired printable Christmas ornaments with French script and horses and made such fun memories. I hope you will love adding them to your tree this year too!
Making ornaments has become a Christmas tradition in our home like these free printable vintage bird wreath ornaments or our best dried oranges. We even built our own DIY wood Christmas Tree box and I have the plans there if you would like to make one too.
About printable christmas ornaments
My little girl loves horses (and so do I) and she wanted some horse Christmas ornaments for the tree in her room this year. I looked all over but just didn't see any that I loved anywhere, so we decided to make our own. They turned out to be perfectly what we wanted and added so much to her tree. They are her favorite ornaments now and I love the memories we made making them together.
Supplies you will need for the printable christmas ornaments
- white cardstock
- free printable download (below)
- glitter glue (I use this one or a clear glue)
- glass glitter- (I use this one in silver and gold mixed together, or this kind)
How to Make Printable Christmas Ornaments
First: Print the Printable Christmas Ornaments onto Cardstock
Print off the free printable onto card stock. If your printer will not accept cardstock, print onto regular printer paper, cut out the ornaments and glue them onto card stock.
You can grab the free printable ornament here. Please remember they are for personal use only.
Second: Cut Out and Layer Printable Christmas Ornaments
Cut out each of the ornaments and layer them onto another piece of cardstock. I like to leave a little bit of a border between the layers so there is plenty of room for the glass glitter. You could even change up the color of the layered cardstock for a different look.
Third: Glass Glitter!
Using a brush or a fine tipped glue bottle, outline the ornament with glue. Pour glass glitter over the edges and dump off the excess. Make sure you do this over a piece of paper so you can easily fold the paper and dump the glitter back into the jar.
Fourth: Embellish and Hang
Use a glue gun to add twine or ribbon to the backside of the ornaments for hanging. Embellish with rustic vintage bells if desired.
I hope you love making these ornaments as much as we did!
