I am so thrilled to begin to share my Christmas home with you! I love Christmastime. I especially love how magical our home feels after all of the decorations are up and we are snuggling under the lights of our Christmas tree. Today, I will be sharing our Christmas kitchen, but I have been busy working on so many fun things to share and I almost wish I could post them all at once because I am just too excited. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.
We will be continuing our Seasons of Home holiday series by sharing spaces throughout our Christmas homes weekly and I am so happy to be joining these sweet girls again this year. We are posting about our holiday homes early in the season to hopefully share inspiration early enough for anyone wanting to incorporate any ideas into their own homes. I hope you join us each week- it was such a sweet series last year, and I know it will be again this year!
My sweet girl and I worked on a fun little Christmas gingerbread cake together. Actually, my sweet boy helped me make the cake portion (and he licked the bowl clean) and Ella helped with the decorating. We love the flavors of Christmas, and baking is one of our favorite things to do together during the holidays. I love any excuse to make these beautiful sugared cranberries, and I sugared up some rosemary while I was at it too. I thought it turned out so pretty. You can find the recipe here. We also garnished our cake with dried oranges and star anise. I will be sharing the recipe for this delicious cake soon, so stay tuned.
Our kitchen isn't very big, so I tend to keep the Christmas decorating to a minimum. Most of what we have out are seasonal holiday goodies, and usually oranges or pomegranates.
I tucked in some faux (but very real looking) greenery around my cake stands and breadboards.
Under my cloche, I put some fake snow and a little church I have had for years. I need to find my little bottle brush trees to stick in there too.
I am thinking about changing out the pictures above my jar shelves to Christmas ones, but I also thought it would be pretty to do some plates or a platter... decisions, decisions.
I have to admit, doing the dishes is a lot more pleasant with the view of a Christmas tree. I still need to add the ribbon, but it makes me smile to have it up. My little guy runs and turns it on every morning when he first wakes up and I love that he loves it too. One of the projects I have been working on is taking video to share my process for decorating my Christmas tree with lots of tips and tricks and I can't wait to share (It will be on Instagram first).
Here are 13 more beautiful Christmas kitchens to get you excited about the holiday season! I love so many of the ideas they share and I know you will too.
