After my patio makeover post, I received so many emails and comments about our sweet pup, that I thought I would take this opportunity, sponsored by Milo's Kitchen, to tell you about him and the cute story about how he came to be a part of our family.
Every time I post a picture of him on my blog, it seems that people get so much more excited about him than the rooms or spaces that I am sharing! And I don't blame you! He is a sweetie pie. He is a Chocolate Labrador Retriever and he is about 8 1/2 years old now. He is the best and sweetest dog to my kids and a good little guard dog for our home.
I told my husband, when we were dating, that I wanted to get a Chocolate Lab someday. I grew up with black labs and have always loved them because they are such good, sweet family dogs. When it came time to propose, my hubby went and found the cutest chocolate lab with a big block head and a sweet disposition. He tied my wedding ring onto his collar and let him into the house where he ran with his big, cute paws and floppy ears and plopped right into my lap. I was so excited to see the cute puppy that I didn't even notice my ring! My hubby had to actually point out the ring tied at his neck. Of course I said yes, and he has been a part of our family ever since!
When he comes inside, he likes to be at our feet and as close to us (and the food!) as possible. I spend a lot of my time in the kitchen making food for my family, and it seems to be the hub of our home where everyone congregates. The kids tend to sneak him people food, but we try our best to make sure that when he gets a treat, it is a dog treat instead. We jumped at trying out these Milo's Kitchen treats since they are made right here in the USA. Milo’s Kitchen dog treats are wholesome snacks based on human foods made in the kitchen but handcrafted with recipes just for dogs.
I think it is fun how closely they resemble our own food- like these Milo's Kitchen® Chicken Meatballs. He gobbled every treat we let him try, so it is hard to say whether he liked the meatballs, the Milo's Kitchen® Chicken Jerky Strips or Milo's Kitchen® Steak Grillers Recipe better... needless to say, he liked them all.
We love this boy of ours. He is so sweet with my babies and really the perfect family dog. I wasn't surprised when I saw that his breed was on this list as one of the best for families, being "loyal, friendly, and patient." That perfectly describes our boy.
