I am so excited to share my Christmas Mantel with you today, and am thankful for Birch Lane's sponsorship of this post. I hope you love every detail!
You probably saw a peek here and there of my mantel in previous posts, but I am excited to finally share all of the details and full pictures with you today! I made stockings when the hubby and I were first married, and we used them for a couple of years but stopped once the kids were born. I kept thinking I would find new matching ones for all of us and year after year I failed miserably! we ended up using various sacks, etc... needless to say, this year was the year! I was on a mission to find us some perfectly adorable stockings.
I love the classic creams and reds for Christmas. There is something so homey and calming and almost nostalgic about the combination. When I saw these stockings from Birch Lane, I knew they would be perfect with my Christmas decor. I loved that they were well made and linen too. They are just gorgeous in person, so I am very pleased. I loved the way these chalkboard stocking holders looked with them too. They are nice and heavy and look very well-made. I think it would be fun to get creative with monograms, doodles, etc on them!
I hung the antique mirror that I used to have hanging in my room, over the mantel. I really love the extra pop of black.
I grabbed this striped ribbon to coordinate with the colors of the stockings and I think it ties the whole room together.
One of the things that I love about Fall and winter is cuddling up in warm blankets... especially under the Christmas tree. I added a basket (Birch Lane) to my fireplace area to store extra comfy pillows
(Birch Lane) and throws for my babies and any guests should they get chilly.
I played with a little greenery here and there, but I ended up just loving the clean mantel with the stockings and a few candles. There are so many other things going on, visually, in this room that having the crisp mantel seems to balance it out. It is the perfect compliment to our big tree.
I can't wait to share the rest of my Christmas home tour with you tomorrow as part of Jennifer Rizzo's Holiday Housewalk! I have been busy, busy.
