I really liked the green color of the old door turned floor mirror that I shared here, but after living with it for a couple of days I decided I wanted something a little different.
First, I wanted it to be a bit more substantial with a little more visual interest, and second, I wanted it to be the creamy white color that I love {see "cake batter" paint color formula here}. I really liked the pop of color, but with the plans that I have for the rest of the bonus room/family room play space, I knew that having a neutral mirror would just work better in the space.
So, I hit up the local ReStore again, and purchased some old moldings. I cut them {yes, I used the saw all by myself :)} to fit so that they would hang over the mirror a bit, making it a lot more chunky and substantial. Because of the size of the wall, and the height of the attic ceiling, I couldn't add the mouldings to the outside edge, so I had to hang it over the mirror. And, I LOVE IT! Love, love, love it.
Here is my high tech, professional way of wood gluing the molding to the old door. I didn't have enough clamps, so.....
Nothing was off limits.... even Ella's toys were fair game as weights.
Here it is...

What do you think!? Do you like it as much as I do?
In the mirror you can see a little bit of the other project I have been working on. It is art for the wall above the couch.
Here is a closer peak~~
I am hoping to share it with you tomorrow!

If you read the original Floor Mirror post, you will find the source of her mirror. She bought the door at ReStore. It already had the mirror attached. So, our chances of replicating that idea are very slim.

A disadvantage to leaving old flooring in place is that you must correct any irregularities in it.

Where did you buy this mirror? I have search a lot at internet furniture stores online. But i was unable to buy this. -Thanks-

I LOVe the mirror and I Love the white/cream too. I actually tried to piant my coffee table today a different color than my usual(cream)& it was so unsettling. I have to be braver I think:). Lovin the art! I will have to ask you next time where.
Have a great night,

I love this!!! what color is that white???

I definitely think it looks better white but if i'm being honest i'm not sure i'm digging the framing. I feel like it cut to much of the mirror off and doesn't look as substantial as it did when it was green.

Kristen, I love it both ways what a clever idea. What size is the mirror itself, I first thought it was one of those $5 over the door mirror, but it looks much larger in the last shot.
