The magic of Christmas experienced through the eyes of the children in a classic traditional home decorated with vintage metallic and red and green touches, luminaries, and candlelight for the holidays.
The Christmas nights around our home are my favorite. I love how it gets dark so early, and we get into our jammies, light candles and read our favorite Christmas books. These are the moments that I want to hold onto and I just never want to let go of.
These little ones truly ARE the magic of Christmas.
If you are coming over from the beautiful home of Happy Happy Nester, welcome!
When they saw I was taking pictures this evening, they were really excited to join in. They kept giggling and I kept thinking to myself that I wish I could somehow bottle up the magic I felt just hearing them laugh and play so I could share it with all of you. While our life with 4 littles feels chaotic at times, it is so completely wonderful too.
We have been making luminaries this year and have fallen in love with them. They are so easy to make and print on simple printer paper- you can get the free printables here and here. They are so magical and we have been eating dinner by just the light of our luminaries almost every night.
I ordered some additional luminaries (here) and we have been loving them too. They just let off a beautiful glow.
One of our family traditions is to read a different Christmas book together each night before bed. We have the ottoman full of books and the kids pick one out each evening. We snuggle on the couch (it is one of the biggest reasons that I swapped out the other couch for the bigger sectional) and they always ask for a second (and third) story.
We have so many cozy throws and blankets around our home this time of the year too. Everything in our home gets used and worn and I love it. We don't really have any fancy, off limits things.
I love the traditional colors I added to our tree this year (see details here). And, surprisingly enough, the baby hasn't even opened up my fake presents.
They were so cute while I was taking pictures. They wanted to be in every shot. But I love these smiles.
Our home isn't the biggest or the fanciest, but it is full of love and happiness and I am so grateful for these littles and my hubby that I get to experience this life and this magic with. I feel like I just want to bottle it up and keep it close to my heart forever.
I can't wait for you to see the beauty and magic over at Julie Blanner and these other magical homes.
