8 simple ways to decorate for vintage farmhouse Easter that are easy, budget-friendly, casual, and beautiful.
Spring is a time of exciting sunshine, beautiful fresh colors, casual entertaining, working in the garden, and enjoying a little life after the cold, dead winter. Easter decorating should reflect this happy simplicity and I have pulled together 8 simple ways to decorate for the holiday to share inspiration and ideas with you! These are all things that don't require much time, and with a little creativity, not much of a budget either. Decorating can be both beautiful and inexpensive!
8 Simple Ways to Decorate for Easter
1. Add fresh or faux flowers
Adding flowers to our home is my favorite way to add subtle Easter and spring charm. They are so happy and they breathe life into the room. They especially feel this way after a long desolate winter. One of the best things about spring and Easter is the fresh, pretty colors everywhere. This is especially true with all of the bulbs and blooms that begin to emerge from the thawing ground. Bringing the outdoors in is one of the best ways to naturally add Easter color. I usually buy my flowers at the grocery store where they are very inexpensive and I love to put them in old buckets or other found containers.
Some of my favorite: blossoming branches, tulips, bulbs like paperwhites, chamomile, pastel flowers like stock, Rosemary topiaries, lavender, and of course peonies. Also, faux flowers can be a great option. I love my faux bulbs and flowering branches.
2. Artwork and Printables
Changing out artwork can be an inexpensive and easy way to add Easter or spring decor to a room. There are many free printables available online that are perfect for this. Having good neutral frames that you love is the key to being able to do this seasonally.

3. Add Traditional Easter Decor
This one might be a no brainer, but classic Easter decor like bunnies, chicks, eggs, birds, carrots, etc. are always a fun way to add Easter charm to your home. I collect seasonal decor when I find it- I don’t buy it just for the sake of having something. I want to make sure I love it first. Having a neutral base with these other items I am listing makes these fun decor pieces feel special and "pop." Hint: pick up a package of neutral speckled eggs and tuck them into your decor for inexpensive Easter touches.

4. Pastel colors
Color can affect mood very deeply. It can also stir a sense of nostalgia so adding those traditional spring and Easter colors can be important part of creating that festive feel. I added a few of these blue pillows into my decor this year and it felt very springy without being too kitschy or themed. They have a very casual feel as well, which is what the spring is all about. Pastel colors can also be added in books, throw blankets, art, etc.
5. Fruit
Fruit is another way to add freshness, life, and color to a space. Fruits that become available in the spring are a great way to decorate or use as an accent for entertaining. Lemons and berries are a couple of my favorites. When entertaining, I always take into consideration how our food will look on the table and build around it. It is a beautiful (and edible) focal point!
6. Natural elements
Natural elements have a casual, outdoor feel- perfect for the season when we are finally able to make our way outdoors again. I love using straw hats, woven bags, and even woven charger plates on my tables. The nice thing about these things is that they are easy to pick up at thrift stores or yard sales! I see hats and straw totes almost every time I go.
7. Greenery and Plants
One of the best things about spring is seeing plants and trees look green again. For Easter, I always love adding this green to my home in the form of bulbs, Easter grass, moss, and boxwood clippings. Nestling speckled eggs into any of these is a cute way to add Easter touches. These paperwhites are faux. I found them after Christmas on clearance at Pottery Barn for a great price. I like to mix in faux plants every now and then because they end up being more economical in the long run, and they just last longer!
8. Vintage Accents
Of course I had to add this one! There are SO many vintage items that are my very favorite when it comes to decorating for Spring or Easter. I love antique Easter postcards, floral plates and platters, pretty ironstone pitchers, old buckets, vintage seed packets and more. Many can be picked up at yard sales or thrift stores for very inexpensive.
