Hi, it's Emily from The Wicker House, and I'm back to share a really fun craft with you today.
So my little family and I have done a lot of camping this summer. We really enjoy spending time out in nature, going swimming in the lake, hiking, relaxing, and of course, roasting marshmallows over the campfire.
Today I wanted to share how we have decorated our hot dog / marshmallow roasting sticks.
Aren't they cute?
So for two of them, I decoupaged craft paper onto the handles. I found the perfect paper at a scrapbooking store. I loved the paper with the little trees.
Here is what you will need for this project:
- Roasting sticks with wood handles
- Craft paper (something lightweight - not card stock)
- Mod Podge
- Scissors
- Paint brush
Cut out craft paper to the size of the wood handle.
Brush Mod Podge onto the back of the paper and wrap it around the wood handle. Then, brush Mod Podge over the outside paper to seal it. Let dry.
I love how they turned out.
Now for the polka dot handles. I used craft paints. I first painted the handle in a solid color. Once it was dry, I added the polka dots using a ball pin. By adding a ball pin to the end of a pencil it allows you to dip it in paint to create perfect, cohesive dots.
This is a really fun craft to do while camping, especially for kids. Just remember to bring all of the supplies along.
As you can see, we've had lots of fun decorating all of our roasting sticks.
Happy Camping!!!
Emily

Love this soooo much Emily! The pictures and natural wood tones were so lovely to look at. I also liked how you showed us the kid ones at the end. I imagine they had a great time making them and I am definitely going to keep this in mind for our next camp out. Well done!
