I am so happy that one of my very favorite companies, The Home Depot, is sponsoring this post and our awesome GIVEAWAY! As always, all opinions {and my love for The Home Depot} are my very own. Please see below for additional disclosure.
I have had a lot on my mind lately as I am officially 36 weeks pregnant! Is it just me, or did that FLY by!? I have been in crazy nesting mode, checking things off of my to-do list at lightening speed {Ok, as "lightening speed" as a hugely pregnant girl can go :)}. I have also been brainstorming ideas for my new little guy's room.

On top of everything else, we are also in the process of trying to find new carpet for our entire home {does it feel like our to-do list is never-ending to anyone but me?}. Ours is very worn out and sad looking, and it is time to replace it. I have looked at SO many samples in various places, and was excited to get the opportunity to review this sample of SoftSpring Carpet from The Home Depot.
I headed down to The Home depot with my sweetie pie, and checked out all of the different SoftSpring Carpets. I think it would be wonderful for a nursery because of how lusciously soft it feels. Actually, the adorable thing is that Ella kept touching it and saying "soooooooooooft."
I really love that girl. She read my mind.

I really am very impressed with their carpet. I used my sample to see what it would look like with the other decor elements I already have for the room. Here is a little peak for you... it isn't much so far, but you can see the general direction I am leaning...

I love the look of the black and cream with the warm tones of the carpet. I think I will need a pop of red, and maybe some vintage galvanized and numbered elements.
I have actually had these vintage train blueprints since our honeymoon over 5 years ago. I saw them in a little antique shop on the coast and knew that they would be perfect for a little boy's room if I ever had one. I just had to buy them and store them away just in case... and now I am so excited to use them! Now I just need to find some great furniture, textiles, etc.
So... back to planning... Here are some tips I like to keep in mind when planning a nursery:

If you are looking for some lusciously soft carpet, or are planning a nursery, here is some more great information about SoftSpring Carpet from The Home Depot.

I will definitely keep you posted as I decorate his room. I have been in little girl mode for so long, that creating a room for this sweetie pie may be a little challenging... but fun!

It is exciting about the new carpet! It makes such a difference in a home. Especially when you have little ones who spend so much time on it :0)
If I were to win the Home Depot giveaway, I would spend the money on paint and bead board for our master bath...if any money were left over, it would go towards those inevitable items that crop up that a home is always needing.

Congratulations and enjoy every single moment! I would use the giveaway to purchase items for the bathroom renovations we are doing ourselves. Thanks so much!

Just FYI we have always gotten our carpet from Home Depot and have never been disappointed. The quality is great, the installers do an excellent job laying it and the clean up is perfect. They make sure everything is in order before they leave. Good luck.

Hi Kristen, Thanks for offering this amazing give-away. My to do list for my house is endless, so I would spend the $100.00 from the Home Depot on house paint, deck stain, new tile for the bathroom, new lighting, no, wait! Maybe chalkboard paint for the kitchen. Hmm. I'll just have to figure it out.

We moved into our custom built house this summer. The house is complete but the yard only has basic builder grade bushes. We would love to add some Japanese maple trees, perrenials and bulbs.
