Simple, inexpensive and easy-to-make fall ideas, perfect for entertaining, decor, or gifts.
I finished a couple of projects this week that I wanted to share with you for the Autumn's in the Air tour hosted by Sheila at Maison de Cinq. If you are coming over from Zevy Joy, welcome! I am so happy to have you here! I will link to some of my recent fall decor posts (as well as these free printable cake stencils) at the end of this post.
I have had these two projects in my brain for a couple years now, but am just getting to them this season. It was so fun to finally get to them. I just love fall so much.
When the fall air begins to settle in and the air gets nice and crisp, my littles and I always get the itch to bake. We put on our matching aprons and they do just as much taste testing as they do eating. We are guaranteed to make a mess, but it is always a lot of fun.
We made my pumpkin cake (recipe HERE- fill up 8" round cake pans halfway with batter) and topped it with this pretty little leaf wreath pattern. I love how sweet and unfussy it looks. You can download my 3 fall wreath cake stencils HERE.
The other project that I have been wanting to tackle was making a corn husk wreath and it was such a fun one to make! I think I might hang it out on my She Shed. I will share the tutorial for it soon in case you want to make one too.
One of the things that I love most about fall is just how beautiful all of the dying foliage its- the leaves, the bushes, the corn, everything.
The fun thing about this stencil method is that you can print it right at home and just use an exact-o knife to cut out the leaves. Using a good sifter ensures that the powdered sugar disperses evenly.
The moment I finished snapping a few pictures, my boys were sneaking bites of this delicious cake!
In case you missed the rest of my home for fall, here you go:
