I am so torn.
I have been working on trying to find bedding for Ella's room for MONTHS now and I can't seem to find exactly what I had in my head. She is 2 1/2 years old, so I want it to be really sweet. There is no doubt in her mind that she is a princess, so I want the room to be girly too.
Well, I came up with two possible combinations and I would love to get your opinion about which one to choose. I really love both of them. I have so many readers and friends that are a lot better at this than I am, so I would LOVE any feedback!!
First, let me remind you what I already have in this room.
So far, I have this fun raw pine armoire. Of course the accessories may change.
And an old Iron bed with a peach vintage chenille blanket I stole from my mom and a cream quilted comforter ... I guess this is the best picture I have of it... : /
And I have a few vintage/handmade touches in the room:
Ok, now here are my two options. They are completely different looks that I love equally.
I found this quilted throw at a local store, so I would probably just turn it into pillows since it isn't as big as her bed. I may even go back and get another one to use as a throw on the bed. It has peach, pink, and a dark red on a cream background. I love how sweet this combo is, but I am a little concerned it is a little too shabby chic...
This is just a quilted fabric that I found. I would make it into a duvet with the red striped ribbon as the ties. It has Red, peach, and a little green and brown. I love how fun it is with the pops of red, and I love that the red makes it match the rest of my house better.
Keep in mind that I will be adding some kind of woodwork to her walls in the near future.
Ok, so what do you think? Which would you pick?
Thanks for your help!

I like the larger rose print choice on the right. But they are both lovely.

I'd pull them all together because they do flow nicely. Use the small print as an accent, ruffle, etc. and use the larger flowers as the focal. The ribbon is so pretty, too.

Without a doubt, the second option -- this option will be perfect as Ella grows.

I think the fabrics and ribbon on the right are gorgeous together and would grow with your daughter. There are more colors to pull from to change things up as time goes by. I agree the smaller print would be nice as pillow covers and perhaps window treatments with the pretty lace.

They are lovely choices but I think I like the one on the right because of the pops of red which would nice with a wood feature you plan on adding. Can't wait to see what you come up!!!

I love the second look.It is bright, much more cheerful than the tiny pale print. You can accessorize with the paler colors or the bright. And the stripped ribbon is a very nice touch!

Probably the one on the left..I think it's more little girlie..You could always change it to the other in a few years..They are both pretty..

Hi Kristen,
I love both choices......however, my fave is the second choice......love the pop of red!!!

I definitely prefer the larger print on the right, however, the other could be used as an accent fabric in small amounts.
Little Vintage Cottage
I really like the larger roses fabric.

I personally like the one on the left...the smaller print, the best. Large floral print always reminds me of bad wallpaper. However, when I read between the lines, clearly you like the larger print better. I kinda agree with another commenter that you could use both. Make pillows out of one and use the other as her duvet. Whichever you choose, you can't go wrong and she will love it!

Oh, yes...the selection on the right and use the pillow cases with the lovely lace edging..use the smaller print as you suggested as a throw and pillow covers...it all is beautiful!

You don't know me but you inspire me! I like the 2nd choice better (and others' idea of maybe using the smaller print for a pillow). Now Im one to quickly "get tired" of bold prints, however, the fact that it has more greens and browns allows for more flexibility with color scheme in the future!

I do love them both, but from your comments I think you prefer #2, and I have to say I do, too! I love the red/pink combo, and the overall look will still be soft and girly. It'll grow with her well, also. I can't wait to see the finished result!
Aunt Lynne
The one with the large floral print with red accents and the ribbon.

I prefer the second larger floral print...it is a beautiful combination of soft colors with a lot of life! The ribbon trim gives it a bit of a modern feel....and this print could be used for any room in the future. It will be perfect for a girly girl until she becomes opinionated enough to request a change!! lol!

Ok, I like the smaller print for two reasons. This is for a "little" girl and if you use the small wainscoating or boards on her wall, it will go well with everything. If you plan to use the larger panels on her walls, then I would go with the larger printed pattern. But I still like the smaller print the best. Not so overwhelming of a pattern.

They both are equally as pretty but I had to take a few looks to make my choice but I would go with the second one the colours flow a lot better with the blankets that you have collected from your mom and the red is perfect seeing that you love red and it goes with the rest of your house by the way I love your house.

I love option #1. It's so soft and reminds me of a sweet little girl.

I definitely prefer the larger floral with the red and cream striped ribbon. The bright red really pops, and is more interesting to look at.
