As many of you know, I have a thing for Christmas trees. I LOVE decorating them! I have also had a Halloween tree for the past few years, and it seems like each year I tweak it here and there. My Ella was so excited to decorate the Halloween tree this year that we actually got it out several weeks ago. She helped me decorate every inch of it. My girl loves to decorate!
I love the vintage Halloween feel, and I keep adding little vintage Halloween touches as I run across them. They have been hard to find in my neck of the woods, but I have a little mental list of things I would love to run across someday.
A very dear friend of mine has the most amazing Halloween tree and I copied her idea several years ago, except her tree is black! Isn't that fun? I use my tinsel Christmas tree, and decorate with a lot of creams and blacks with pops of orange. My girl loves the witch hat on the top the best.
I made these ornaments a few years ago (see post here), found the ribbon at craft Warehouse last year, and the cute cat and owls at Hobby Lobby this year. Most of the rest of the ornaments were from Tai Pan.
I loved the piano key ribbon but I wanted to add a coordinating polka dot ribbon as well. I couldn't find one anywhere, so I used strips of this wrapping paper that I crumpled up. I saw a Christmas tree last year that had crumpled christmas music wrapping paper at Tai Pan and I loved the idea, so I tried it out here.
I always giggle a little when people come over and do a double take when they see my tree. It always takes a minute for it to click in their brains that it is a Halloween tree and not a Christmas tree.
We have fun with it!
Kathy
I go on your blog every Halloween to see your decorations, adorable!!

Love your Halloween tree. I have collected "ornaments" over the years and it's so easy to transition from Halloween into Thanksgiving/Christmas when the tree is already up!

I have never been one to put up a tree for a holiday other than Christmas, but this tree might have sold me! I love that it is primarily black and white/cream. The little pops of orange are just the amount of color. I may be heading out to see what color tree I can find! Happy Halloween!

I never understood the concept of a Halloween (or Easter) tree, but now I get it! That is so cute, I am INSPIRED! I took a look at how your tree has changed since 2012, and they are so different, but both so adorable and crammed full of ideas and fun. I'm so glad I found your site.
Congratulations on your baby boy, and blessings for his health and happiness!

I love your fall posts, Kristen. My b-day is Halloween and last year I spotted your Halloween tree and got so inspired. I have been collecting vintage Halloween for years and finally have a place for all of it to land!! I mirrored some of the items you created like the fan folded book pages and filled the center with some of the vintage I already had. My husband bought me a black Christmas tree for my b-day last year and have waited all year to put it up!! Thank you for your wonderful imagination and creative nature. BTW your kiddos are adorable.

Incredible! This is a fantastic Halloween tree, Kristen. If this isn't already a trend, it should be. Cheers and Happy Halloween, Ardith

I love this time of year. I didn't this year because we are winding down the clean up after the death
of a family member but oh this so tugged at my heart. I just may have to go get one of those ornaments

You are clever! My kids would love it if I took more time to decorate for Halloween. I also love your simple mantel with white pumpkins.
