As many of you know, I have a thing for Christmas trees. I LOVE decorating them! I have also had a Halloween tree for the past few years, and it seems like each year I tweak it here and there. My Ella was so excited to decorate the Halloween tree this year that we actually got it out several weeks ago. She helped me decorate every inch of it. My girl loves to decorate!
I love the vintage Halloween feel, and I keep adding little vintage Halloween touches as I run across them. They have been hard to find in my neck of the woods, but I have a little mental list of things I would love to run across someday.
A very dear friend of mine has the most amazing Halloween tree and I copied her idea several years ago, except her tree is black! Isn’t that fun? I use my tinsel Christmas tree, and decorate with a lot of creams and blacks with pops of orange. My girl loves the witch hat on the top the best.
I made these ornaments a few years ago (see post here), found the ribbon at craft Warehouse last year, and the cute cat and owls at Hobby Lobby this year. Most of the rest of the ornaments were from Tai Pan.
I loved the piano key ribbon but I wanted to add a coordinating polka dot ribbon as well. I couldn’t find one anywhere, so I used strips of this wrapping paper that I crumpled up. I saw a Christmas tree last year that had crumpled christmas music wrapping paper at Tai Pan and I loved the idea, so I tried it out here.
I always giggle a little when people come over and do a double take when they see my tree. It always takes a minute for it to click in their brains that it is a Halloween tree and not a Christmas tree.
We have fun with it!
