Make these spooky Halloween lanterns for your fall porch, table or mantel this season and thrill your trick-or-treaters. My kids giggled with delight when they saw these magical autumn luminaries made from an easy free printable!
We wanted to decorate our porch for fall AND for our Halloween trick-or-treaters this year. Most years we just have our pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns out, but we wanted to do something a little extra fun for the kids this year.
I knew I wanted to include a lot of candlelight and glowing spooky touches while still keeping it simple, so we made Halloween lanterns!
We have made many lanterns over the years like the Fall leaf luminaries, Santa sleigh + reindeer luminaries, and Christmas village luminaries. They are one of our very favorite way to decorate for holidays!
These luminaries have spiders and webs on them and are so much fun in person! Of course I have the free printables for you if you want to make some for yourself!
This project is very budget-friendly too. It was only about $3 for enough lanterns to fill my porch!
Printing Halloween Lanterns
I printed these lantern luminaries out on 11 x17 paper at a copy place. Nothing fancy or expensive- they are just black + white and only about 30 cents per copy at my store.
There are 9 total lanterns: 8 webs with spiders, and 1 with just spiders. I made extra copies of the one with all of the spiders.
Print Spider Lanterns Here. Please remember they are for personal use only.
Assembling the Halloween Lanterns
It is so easy and fast to assemble these Halloween spider lanterns. It is a great project to do with the kids as well!
To assemble lanterns:
- Print lanterns
- wrap around to overlap opposite edges.
- Hold together with clear tape. I like this magic tape.
- Attach to a wide mouth canning jar for extra support.
- Put a candle (I like these battery-operated flickering ones for safety) in the jar.
I hope you enjoy making these! My littles love them. It is such a fun and inexpensive project for Halloween!
