Vintage inspired Halloween decor with a Halloween tree and DIY bat swarm on a fireplace mantel.
We love Halloween around here. I feel like it isn't super popular within this home decor niche to decorate for Halloween, but I don't even care. My littles and I have so much fun adding the whimsy and fun to our home during the month of October! The looks on their little faces are priceless. I always gravitate toward the fun vintage looking halloween decor, and I thought I would share our family room with you today as part of a fun "Autumn's in the Air" tour.
If you are coming over from Nina Hendrick, welcome! I am so glad to have you!
Every year we put up a Halloween tree... yes, like a Christmas tree but for Halloween! I also pull out all of my vintage inspired Halloween decor. The little help me decorate the tree and put our decorations around our home. They even have little halloween things for their rooms. I love that they love to help me.
We cut out the bats using the template from my haunted bat tree post here. It is a free download if you would like to do this fun project too! I blew up the image a little for the bigger bats, and I will share that larger one in a separate post this weekend, so be sure to check back!
I found this fun skull print in a little shop on the Oregon coast and thought it would be a fun one to save for Halloween. You can find one here as well. I love that it has an aged paper patina.
Is it weird that I love our halloween tree?! I know it is something that you don't see very often, but it is one of my favorite things. I plan on making some pinwheels from book pages to add to it, but I ran out of time before I took these pictures. I feel like it is so much more fun in person, so I really need to work on my photography skills!
Here is the tree before we added the bats to our mantel...
And here it is after. Everything on the tree had been collected in previous years. I put our tree in an old wood box that I stole from my mom.
Over on our coffee table, I just collected some of our white pumpkins, sheet music to match the tree, and a fun little owl that my sweet friend gave me. Halloween is so fun. I just love it's whimsy and corkiness!
I hope you get a chance to continue the tour with my sweet friend Annie's blog, Zevy Joy! And, here are the rest of the beautiful homes in the tour below. Do you like to decorate for Halloween?
