Michelle, from Dandelion Patina, is back with a beautiful lavender egg project for spring! This would be the perfect project to do with all of those clearance craft eggs now that Easter is over! I just love the smell of lavender and I bet these are wonderful to have around!

This is the time of year when I start making a list of places to visit during the summer. The list usually gets pretty long and I am lucky if we make it to a handful of them, but one of the places on the top of my list is visiting The Fragrant Isle. It is a lavender farm & shop here in Wisconsin. I can't imagine anything better than fresh lavender fields! And, walking into a shop filled with lavender products, oh my goodness!
Well, since lavender has been on my brain over the past few days. I wanted to share a little DIY dried lavender project with my favorite Ella Claire readers.
Are you ready to get busy with some lavender? Here we go!
Supplies you will need:
Paper Mache Eggs
Dried Lavender Buds
Aleene's Tacky Glue
Wax Paper
Decorative Trim
Start by applying your tacky glue to the entire egg. I applied it fairly liberally. You want a good coat of glue to help with adhering the lavender buds to the paper mache egg.
Place your egg into the lavender buds. I used a small plate with a lip for this part of the process.
Roll the egg around in the lavender buds as well as sprinkle. Tearing off a small piece of wax paper helped keep my hands from getting completely covered in glue/lavender. I also used the wax paper to push the lavender buds into the tacky glue for adhesion.
Use the wax paper to remove the finished egg from the lavender buds and place on a sheet of wax paper to dry.
I love the texture of the finished eggs. The paper mache blends in nicely with the lavender buds. And did I mention the aroma? Ahhhh.
These dried lavender dipped eggs would look fabulous incorporated into a centerpiece for brunch. And they would be a great conversation starter.
I hope you enjoyed this crafty & fun little DIY. Perhaps I will see you over at The Fragrant Isle this summer! Let me know if you plan on visiting!

Just what I was looking for! I read recently that lavendar is a natural moth repellent?! I KNOW!!! I'm using this great idea to store all my winter things. In hat boxes, sweater containers, you could deposit them in a sheer drawstring pouch and hang with winter wool coats. Then come fall everything will be smelling lovely and fresh minus the moth damage. Well done you!! Thank you.

So glad I could help! These would be perfect for that use.
