One of the best things about the holidays is the yummy food! I am always a sucker for cookies, and Christmas cookies might just be the best of all. It seems like there are so many varieties at Christmas, too. Today, I am sharing a delicious recipe for Cranberry Orange White Chocolate Chip cookies which have some of the very best flavors from the season. I am also sharing 15 more delicious (and beautiful!) cookie recipes below!
The tartness of the cherries mixed with the tang of the grange and the creaminess of the white chocolate is just a delicious combination! I added walnuts, but if you prefer no nuts, you could easily omit them. I think they add a perfect crunch to the cookies, though, so I highly recommend keeping them!
Cranberry Orange White Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 T orange zest
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup sweetened, dried cranberries
3/4 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts (optional)
1/3 cup powdered sugar
2 tsp. orange juice
1 tsp. orange zest
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together flour, baking soda, and baking powder and set aside. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, orange zest, and 1 cup sugar. Add egg and mix until nice and creamy. Add dry ingredients and mix until well combined. Add dried cranberries, white chocolate chips, and walnuts until just combined. Drop one inch balls onto parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes and then let cool.
While cookies are cooling, combine icing ingredients. Once cooled, lightly drizzle cookies with icing.
