I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you today! I have been sitting on this little secret project for a while now and I am so happy that I get to share it with you today! Several months ago, I was asked by Pier 1 to design a tablescape for their "Black and White Done Right- A Tale of Two Tables" campaign for Food Network and HGTV magazines! This was a hard secret to keep! You all know how much I love designing spaces- particularly tablescapes, so this opportunity was right up my alley. Both magazines will be on newsstands September 10th and I can't wait to get my hands on them.
For this campaign, Pier 1 asked two bloggers- the other being the talented Kristin from The Hunted Interior- to design black and white themed tablescapes which will be featured side by side in an article in both magazines. It is fun to see how both of us came up with such differently styled spaces, even with the same design requirements.
Here is my mood board for my side of the table:
I think one of the hardest things about designing my table was the fact that there were so many beautiful products from Pier 1 to choose from. That's why I personally think that editing is one of the most important skills in design. I wanted the black and white theme to be prominent, but I also chose to add warmth and a bit of fall through neutral florals and wood tones from Pier 1. Adding these elements gave the table life and made it so much more inviting and cozy for the season. The nice thing about wood tones is that they are great to have on hand as a base for any other tablescape designs. I particularly loved the feel against the iron candle holders and metal lanterns.
Their stylists worked their magic while they were photographing the tables and I am so thrilled with how they turned out! I can't wait for you to see them in Food Network and HGTV magazines!
As always, thank you for your kindness and for being the best cheerleaders a girl could ask for. It was hard to keep this one a secret and is so exciting to finally be able to share it with you!
