Hello friends! I hope you are enjoying your Fall so far. I am loving every bit of this crisp weather, the hayrides through the pumpkin patch, the warm soups and the snuggles with my babies. Today I am sharing a few ideas for Autumn entertaining as part of the Styled + Set Holiday Entertaining Tour hosted by Lory from Designthusiasm. If you love entertaining, you have come to the right place! 30 sweet and talented bloggers are welcoming us into their homes and sharing their fun entertaining ideas with us. I will add all of the links at the end of this post.
Autumn entertaining, for me, is all about comfortable spaces with delicious food and a relaxed and cozy atmosphere.
When creating a tablescape, I like to add a lot of layers, for both function and beauty. I started with a woven charger, my white dishes, linen towels in place of napkins, and our simple silverware (and usually glasses (; ).
I really love the traditional Autumn colors from nature- the shades of red, orange, yellow, green and brown. I think they are so stunningly beautiful when they are all mixed together outside, so I incorporated them into our table.
My little helper and I gathered things for a simple little tablescape- pumpkins from our garden, leaves and branches from trees in the neighborhood, pears, candles, and a vintage grain sack table runner.
I always have a stash of these white glass votive candles (from Walmart) because they are easy to pull out and add such a pretty ambiance to our table.
For the floral arrangement, I taped a grid to an antique bowl and placed it on top of a cake plate. I started with a base of different branches with pretty and colorful leaves. Then I added crabapple branches and soft white roses from my garden. Finally, I added beautiful, deep red pears and white pumpkins here and there in the arrangement. I wanted it very relaxed and organic, so I didn't make it too formal or fussy.
Every Fall we love to whip up a pot of my Pumpkin Bisque (recipe here). My kids gobble it up just as fast as my hubby and I do. It is the perfect Fall comfort food. The roasted raw pumpkin seeds on top just put it over the top.
After I finished taking my pictures, we sat down to eat and I realized that I forgot to put my glasses out. 🙂 oops. I guess you can use your imagination.
Thank you for visiting with me today while we chat a little bit about easy entertaining! I hope you get a chance to visit these other beautiful blogs for some great ideas for holiday entertaining! P.S. I have a big announcement coming on Thursday afternoon (I already spilled the beans on Instagram), so stay tuned!
