This little princess of mine. She is just the best. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and she commented how adorable she thinks it is that my Ella wears role play dresses everywhere she goes. I am not even exaggerating- all day, every day. She wears them to the store, preschool, when she is playing, to nonna's house, everywhere. I have to admit, I love it so much and I find myself wishing and hoping that this stage lasts forever.
One of Ella's favorite character is "Sofia" so she was more than thrilled to pick out her favorite Sofia the First toy from the new line. If you have a little girl, or a granddaughter, I am sure you know of Sofia the First from the TV series on Disney Junior. It is one that we have set on our DVR to record because my girl doesn't like to miss an episode. I really don't allow my children to watch very much TV, but this is one of the shows that I actually love because it is such a good influence in a world where little girls are increasingly made to grow up too soon, be selfish, and focus solely on very superficial things. Sofia the First teaches kindness, courage, loyalty, honesty, generosity, creativity, and forgiveness. We grabbed our toys at Walmart, but you can get them at Target, Amazon, and ToysRUs too- and FYI, they are high quality at a really reasonable price point. They have dolls, palace play sets, gowns, necklaces and much more if your little one loves Sofia like mine does.
So, I followed my Ella girl on one of her many adventures and snapped a few pictures.
We were going to bake cookies a few days ago, but it was such a beautiful day so we headed out to my parent's house (my childhood home) and had an "adventure" as Ella called it. We ran through the property and chased the chickens, talked to the turkeys, twirled in the spring grass, walked through the "forest" (grove of trees), and laid in the grass.
When she got to pick out her new Sofia toys, she was so excited that you would have thought it was Christmas day. She loved the other fun toys in the new line, but her eyes completely lit up when she saw the amulet -- that is what she calls it because Sofia does. It isn't a necklace; it is an amulet. It lights up, plays music and talks, which of course is completely magical to my little one. So funny and so cute. And, of course it went perfectly with her dress.
It is important to me that my girl has these good influences in her life and I appreciate so much that they tell her she can be strong and brave and kind- that the inside matters most.
I love seeing her imagination and adventurous spirit. In so many ways, this girl teaches me because she is so kind and loving and full of life. I am so very blessed to be her mommy. She is my sweet and brave little princess.
