I’ve Been Published!

I have been sitting on this secret for a whole year now! And, if you follow me on Instagram, then you already know… I have been published! It has been my dream ever since I was a little girl to do articles for magazines and it actually happened!!!
I approached them with the idea of a Fall drink stand last year and I can’t tell you how much it meant to me that the great editors of Yum Food and Fun for Kids gave me a shot.
I can’t show you the entire article, but here is a little teaser. I shared 3 recipes and my article is SIX pages long! I styled a fun, vintagey photo shoot with 2 special chalkboard drawings, vintage jars filled with goodies for the hot cocoa/cider bar, caramel apple wedges, pumpkins, buntings, and some of the most adorable kids in the world {thank you Heather and Summer for letting me borrow your kids! You are the BEST}.

My heart skips a beat every time I read where it says “written and photographed by Kristen Whitby.”
I actually cried when my copy came in the mail. Little Ella kept looking at me with her sweet little inquisitive sad eyes asking, “Mama okay?” I guess it is hard to explain to a two year old that tears can be happy too. I am so overwhelmed and humbled at reaching this goal, and I hope that I can do it again in the future.
Thank you for sharing in my excitement, sweet friends.

Congratulations, Kristen! This is very exciting, and I’m sure your friends and their kids are just as excited to see their pictures in the magazine. How sweet that Ella kept asking if you were okay. You can already tell she has a good heart! : )

Wow, this is huge! Congratulations Kristen. I’ll definitely pick it up the next time I’m in Freddie’s. I admire your creativity so much. Who do we have to lobby for you to be a regular contributor?
