We have been having so much fun making these DIY Fall leaf luminaries! They are the perfect project to do for elegant decor and great to do with littles as well.
You will want to gather leaves that are somewhat freshly fallen- not crispy. We tried to find varying colors, but I think our favorites were the red ones by far!
First, lay the leaves out on the glossy (waxy) side of a sheet of wax paper. You can use whatever design you choose, but we just laid ours out randomly. Then place another layer of wax paper with glossy side toward the leaves.
Then just iron the wax paper sheets together. It is better to use a thin rag in between your iron and the wax paper so you don't get any wax on the iron.
Then just wrap around and tape in a tube shape. Trim if needed. Place over a candle (battery operated is safest as wax paper can/will burn)
They really are so beautiful and elegant for Fall decorating!

I love these Fall Leaf Luminaries. They look so elegant but also they have a calming effect when in an outdoor setting. I can't wait to try this. How long will the leaves keep before drying out?
Thank you for this diy.

I have had mine for a few weeks now and they still look beautiful. I will store them away until next year and report back.
