The popular seasonal cranberry bar with a traditionally buttery cookie base is one of my favorite holiday treats. I revamped it a little and did my own chocolatey take on the classic dessert, and oh my, it turned out DELICIOUS.
This recipe is simple and easy and tastes like a wonderfully decadent Christmas treat. It is perfect for holiday parties or to give to friends and neighbors, and all of the ingredients were easy to find at my local Albertsons grocery store.
This has been my favorite brownie mix ever since I was a kid. I added chocolate chips to it and used it as a base for my Chocolate Cranberry Blissful Bars.
I made the brownie base by following the directions on the box and adding chocolate chips. I poured it into the pan and cooked it according to package instructions.
Then, I simply made the cream cheese frosting layer, sprinkled with cranberries and drizzled with the extra melted chocolate chips. It looks so much fancier and more complicated than it is, but it came together so quickly and easily!
Chocolate Cranberry Blissful Bars
1 Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie mix
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1 cup + 1/2 cup Hershey’s semi-sweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup white chocolate chips, melted
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 2/3 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 tablespoon whole milk
1/4 cup sweetened dried cranberries, loosely packed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix brownie mix, egg, oil and water according to package instructions. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips, pour into a 13×9 pan and bake for 24-26 minutes according to package instructions. Remove from oven and allow to completely cool.
In a mixer, whip the cream cheese together with the confectioners’ sugar, vanilla and milk. Add melted white chocolate chips and beat for 3 minutes on high. Spread onto the top of the cooled brownies. Sprinkle with dried cranberries. Drizzle with 1/2 cup of melted chocolate chips.
To melt chips: Microwave on high for 30 seconds, remove and stir. Continue to microwave at 15 second intervals, stirring in between each until thoroughly melted.

All of the ingredients are available at your local Albertsons store. I actually went back after the kids were in bed to grab some of the stocking stuffers I found while I was there and couldn’t purchase in front of them. I love Christmastime!
