Today, I wanted to share a fun breakfast idea for you and your Valentine! I first posted this over at Sweet C's last week, but I wanted to share it with you too. It is so nice and warm and yummy.. and SO easy to make!
{and the best part about my recipe, is I have tweaked it to be much healthier than traditional German pancakes without compromising the taste~ I also posted the regular version of this recipe here}
What better way to say, "Good Morning, my sweet loves" than a nice and yummy breakfast?
I love going all out on holidays to make my loved ones feel special. Simple little touches here and there make such a big difference, and I have to admit I get a little giddy putting them together.
The recipe for this German pancake is super simple. And, I have tweaked it so that is has no sugar and less fat than a regular German Pancake.
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Put 1/3 stick of butter {the real stuff} in a pan {I used a 7 1/2" x 11"},
and stick your pan in the oven while it preheats.
2. Throw these ingredients in a blender, and blend until smoothe:
6 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
a splash of vanilla
3.Pour your blended mixture into the pan with the melted butter.
{confession ~ I am impatient and usually don't wait for the oven to
be fully preheated before I pour the batter in.}
4.Bake 12-15 minutes (or more depending on your oven)
until the middle is cooked through.
It will poof into a wonderfully crazy shape and then once you
pull it out of the oven, it will sink quite a bit.
5. Take a cookie cutter and carefully {don't burn yourself!} cut your
German pancake into hearts.
6. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve with your choice of fresh fruit or syrups.
Don't forget to make one for yourself, too, so you can sit and enjoy the morning with your sweet Valentine{s}.
I have been working on all kinds of fun Valentine decor projects, and am so excited to share them with you.
And, on top of that... my one year blog anniversary is next week! Can I tell you how excited I am!? I have a few really fun things in store to celebrate!
XOXO

Looks delish Kristen! My grandma used to make German pancakes for my cousins and I whenever we visited. My grandparents lived in the mountains on White Pass in Washington State so whenever I have German pancakes it reminds me of my grandma and the mountains :o)

I love the pancakes. How sweet. I wish the men were reading our blogs. To be honest my husband would appreciate it more if I cut them in the shape of cars and airplanes. Lol
