Make this delicious Jalapeno Popper Dip with bacon for the best appetizer at your next football game! Creamy and warm, this cheesy dip is filling, flavorful, and the perfect party food.
Preheat oven to 350°
Cut Jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove the top, seeds and membrane. Dice into small pieces. Sauté in a frying pan with 1 tablespoon butter until just slightly softened.
In a mixing bowl with the paddle attachment (or a bowl with a spoon) cream together cream cheese and sour cream. Add garlic powder, cheddar and monterey jack cheese until combined. Add jalapenos and 8 of the slices of bacon (chopped), mixing until well combined.
Spread dip filling into an oven-safe 8x8 casserole dish or small cast iron skillet. In a small bowl, melt 4 tablespoons butter. Stir in Panko breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese. Sprinkle on top of dip.
Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the dip is golden and bubbly around the edges.
Garnish with green onions or extra jalapeno, and the remaining 2 strips of bacon, chopped.
Serve warm with bread, crackers, or chips.
By far, the best way to make bacon for this dip is in the oven using my recipe for the BEST bacon.
