Ingredients

Chocolate Chip Spider Cookies

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • Semi sweet or milk chocolate Candy Melts

Chocolate Cookies with White Chocolate Chip Spiders

  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup baking cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • white chocolate candy melts

Chocolate Chip Spider Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, salt, and baking soda and set aside. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and shortening. Add sugars until well combined. And egg and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Add the flour mixture, a little bit at a time, stirring until combined. Drop 1 1/2″ dollops onto cookie sheet. Press one candy melt into your dough. Bake 10-11 minutes and follow steps above to get your spiders.
