Spiced Pumpkin Maple Syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp. Maple Extract I use Mapleine
  • 1 3/4 cups pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie filling
  • 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice make your own~ recipe; see link in notes
  • 1 cup evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan and heat until boiling, stirring continuously. Remove from heat and whisk in maple flavoring. Then whisk in pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice until completely smooth and well combined. Whisk evaporated milk into the syrup. Serve immediately over pancakes, waffles, and more! May be stored, covered, in the fridge for a few days. Just reheat and serve when ready.

NOTE: This syrup is amazing served with butter. The butter offsets the sweetness with creamy saltiness and puts it over the top. Also, you may like it with chopped pecans or walnuts on top. That is my favorite!
