Hello friends!
This is a very picture heavy post of one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed from nature. I hope you can sit back, relax and enjoy!
It got really cold here a couple of weeks ago, and day after day we awoke to a thick fog that had settled it. We went to the cabin and then to visit my father in law. I dearly missed the sunshine, but found I was very content with the special and unique beauty in the way the fog transformed the countryside.
A thick blanket of gorgeous fog frost crystals covered everything in sight and it was absolutely breathtaking.
From far away, it just looked like a dusting of snow.
But up close you can see how magnificent and delicate each and every branch became.
I couldn't get enough.
So I dragged my sweet sister in law and niece out with me to grab some pictures.
I guess I was just trying to capture a moment.
Winter can seem so gloomy sometimes. But some of the most beautiful things happen in the midst of winter.
Like the quote by Albert Camus that I love...
"In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer."
I just love the icy beauty of this amazing fog frost.
These little dried flowers covered with frost just seemed so special.
And then just like that, the sun came out and all of the beautiful crystals disappeared.
What an amazing and beautiful world we live in.
What is it like in your neck of the woods?
Our carpet goes in this week, so we are busy, busy. It feels like we are moving. Wish me luck!
P.S. If anyone wants me to turn the picture with the quote into a printable version, let me know and I will update this post.

How lovely and are we not so lucky to value what nature offers us. One of my magical moments was cross country skiing at Cypress Mountain near Vancouver BC and ice crystals formed in the air. Really amazing.
Thank you for the post. Presently in Maleny Qld Australia 29C - green and lovely.

It's a Hoar Frost...and magical. I used to see them sometimes on The Blue Ridge Parkway when I lived in North Carolina.

Hi Kristen...this is one of my most favorite posts of yours! Thank you for capturing this gorgeous moment! This quote is one of my favorites and that you have this quote on a frosted rose...well, it just makes my heart leap. If you feel pulled to create a printable, I'll be one of the first to download. Thank you again...this was a magical journey. Big hug...Tina

Beautiful! We have had the cold for sure, but nothing as beautiful as that frost. We're due to get 4-8 inches of snow tonight though!
