Every year when the end of February/beginning of March rolls around, I start to get the itch to add little bits of life and color here and there to spruce up the house for Spring. I even start dreaming and planning for what we will grow out in the garden. Last week I had some fun and bought a couple new houseplants, a big vase of blossoming branches, and the hubbs and I even painted a room (more on that later). It feels good to see fresh new life in our home.
In my dining room, I added some subtle pops of color and layers of texture using the Enchanted Garden Collection from World Market. I loved the blues and greens mimicking all of the buds and blooming we are starting to see outside (it is blooming so early here this year!).
To create this place setting, I layered a rattan charger, dinner plate, Spring dish towel, small plate, napkin, and then bowl. Basically I had a layer in between each dish. Then I added a cupcake at each setting, and silverware. I used my very favorite French bee glasses at each place setting as well.
Dish towels may seem like an odd thing to layer, but I love all of the pattern and luscious texture they add.
I added some cute galvanized touches with these tin can looking candles and this Garden Tools bin to hold fresh flowers.
I love the whimsy of paper straws, but not everyone in my family loves to use them and they do tend to get soggy if left in drinks too long, so I just placed them on the napkins.
So, here was my dining room for Christmas...
And here it is for Spring...
Spring colors are like breathing in a big, deep, happy, sunshine-y breath.

So pretty! I love World Market's dining and tableware. I was just there last week and somehow missed these, but you've inspired me to head back to take a look. I especially love the blue lace trim on the napkins!
