I went to a barbeque last night and wanted to bring a treat to share. I made up some of my ooey gooey, oh so yummy, marshmellow popcorn. I thought I would share the recipe here on my blog.
It is super easy and quick to make, and I seem to always have the ingredients on hand. This is definitely not a low calorie treat.... but it is really yummy!
Pop 3 bags of butter flavored microwave popcorn.
Take two bowls and dump the popcorn into one of them. Use your clean hands to move the good popcorn to the second bowl. This should leave all of the kernels in the first bowl. I usually do this twice to make sure that all of the kernels are removed so no one breaks a tooth!
In a heavy pan, melt 1 1/2 sticks butter {the real stuff}.
Add 1 1/2 bags of miniature marshmellows and stir until all melted together.
In a big bowl, mix the marshmellow buttery goodness with the popcorn. Fold, and stir together.
Enjoy!

I make this for Halloween, but use flavored jello, many different I may add, and firm small balls, the kiddos love them !

Kristin you are genius...I have been missing rice crispy treats since having to go gluten-free. I adore pop corn and can't wait to try this!

Yummo! We make this too, but we do 2 sticks butter, 1 cup brown sugar and 40 large marshmallows....I bet yours has fewer calories! I am gonna try it this way 🙂
