If you are coming over from Craftberry Bush, welcome! I am thrilled to have you here on our "Here Comes Santa" tour hosted by Zevy Joy and House of Five, and sponsored by Grandin Road. For me, the magic of Christmas is in the joy and excitement of my sweet babies as we celebrate the season through special traditions and I am happy I get to share a little glimpse into those with you today.
The heart of our home is in our wide open kitchen and family room area and this is also where we have our main Christmas tree and our fireplace. Our littles talk non stop about how Santa comes down the fireplace to bring them presents and they spend the week leading up to Christmas asking all kinds of questions about Santa as they try to stare up the chimney.
They are the magic of Christmas.
We have blankets and pillows stacked on the shelves in here and we snuggle wit them by the fireplace under the warm glow of the Christmas tree. We talk all about the birth of baby Jesus, sip hot cocoa and dream about what Santa will be bringing us. On Christmas eve we even sometimes sneak and open one of our presents in this room. (Blankets from HERE, HERE, HERE) I know a lot of people open their Christmas jammies on Christmas eve, but we do those earlier in the month so the kids can wear them on the weeks leading up to Christmas. I just make sure that we all have our jammies clean and ready to wear in anticipation of Santa coming that night!
On Christmas eve, we eat shrimp, drive around to look at Christmas lights, read our favorite Christmas stories, and tuck the kids into bed promptly at 8 PM with magical promises of a special visitor while they sleep (clock from here). Their eyes are always so big and sparkling as we tell them tales of our childhood Christmases.
For our mantel this year, I draped a garland (this one- and it is lush and AMAZING) with a bunch of flickering battery operated candles. I have loved so much that they look like real candles and that they come on automatically every evening. So much simple drama and I love it. You can see a video on my Instagram. I hung our stockings on my DIY stocking hanger for now, but they might make their way down here before the big day.
Of course on Christmas eve, we always leave out a special treat and a glass of milk for Santa. And he always takes a big gulp and bite-
Oh how I love Christmas! I can't wait to soak it all in with my babies this year. I will be sharing more of my Christmas Family room and tree tomorrow, so I hope to see you back here! Next stop on our little tour is Susan from Kindred Vintage. I know you will love the magical things she shares!
I hope you get a chance to visit all of the homes in our tour:

Kristen,
I love how you guys are doing this series. Spreading the advice over the course of a couple months is giving me so much inspiration. I love that chunky knit blanket on your couch. Do you remember where you got it from? Can't wait to see more.
