I know I have mentioned this before, but I absolutely love the colors and warmth of Christmas. It really is the best time of the year. I have been playing around with a little Christmas tablescape with fresh greenery, pomegranates, oranges, and lots of candles. I also used some beautiful things that Caravan sent me for this post. This centerpiece is really easy to reproduce if you are looking for tablescape ideas, and bonus- you can eat part of the centerpiece when you are finished :).
I wanted to use a lot of candlelight because we have been having some pretty gloomy, stormy days around here lately. I love to add layers and dimension on a table, so I put most of the candles on these cake plates. I sprinkled in a few glass votives as well. I buy these at Walmart and they are actually my favorite to use and re-use.
First, I just set my table starting out with these linens. I added my wood chargers, plates, cups, silverware, etc. Then I added the cake plates with the candles. I wove greenery through the cake stands and stuck orange halves and pomegranates here and there. I added the little glass votives and I was finished. It was a really simple way to dress up a table, but still with a lot of color and impact.
At first, I thought I was a little weird to want to cut the oranges into halves, but I thought they looked so pretty that way so I just went with it. But then, after they were out, they made the table smell absolutely incredible!
I also made these little cups of Vanilla bean Panna Cotta for each place setting, garnished with sugared cranberries and a gingersnap cookie.... just for fun. (recipes: Panna Cotta I omitted the lemon, sugared cranberries)
The kids had no problem digging right into those!
I just love the warmth of this season.
And here are a few of my friends' beautiful Christmas tables as part of our Seasons of Home Holiday Series. I am always so inspired by what they share each week.
