A couple of weeks ago, Ella and I had some fun creating little heart doily banners for Valentine's day. They are so simple and sweet that I thought I would share.
We just grabbed some chunky gray and white baker's twine and some mini heart doilies. These doilies are small- probably only 3 or 4" tall, but I am sure you could make large doilies work too. I found these ones at a local Fred Meyer store. Colored string or twine would also be really cute.
We just cut the length we wanted and started stringing the doilies through their own holes. I kept having to cut the end of the baker's twine to get rid of the frayed edges so it would fit in the holes, but it would have been a lot easier if I had wrapped a piece of scotch tape around the edge before stringing.
We made a few different lengths and hung them around the house. I thought they looked really cute on her pink dresser- especially for Valentine's Day!
I still need to find knobs for the top drawers of the dresser :). It was missing pulls when I bought it.
These little heart garlands would be fun layered with other banners too. And so easy and inexpensive!

I love this idea! And I actually have some heart doilies and red and white striped bakers twine so I am all set! I love your blog- your decorating style is beautiful and simple and just the look I'm trying to achieve in my home, little by little.
Thank you for the inspiration!
