I wanted to share this little holiday dessert buffet with you today for those of you who are still throwing Christmas or New Year's Eve parties, using the line of gorgeous serveware sent from Martha Stewart. I hope you pin any ideas you would like to save for next year too! I love baking and entertaining. I think it is so fun to make things special and pretty for family and guests, and I love the idea of not just having one dessert, but many to choose from.
My theme was more of a transitional one of Christmas to Winter. I used cranberries, a pine garlands, candles (I always love the candles!), and vintage linens. I also added a peek of lemon here and there for a touch of freshness. I think the color of the lemon is so crisp and pretty with the cranberries and pine garland.
The presentation makes everything feel so special, and it is the part that I enjoy putting together the most.
I absolutely adore these scalloped plates and coordinating platter from Martha Stewart, and have plans for them this year for Ella's birthday. That is the thing that I love about white serveware; the right pieces in your stash transition for every party you throw, year around. Almost every platter in my stash is white, and we also use white everyday dishes. I feel like it helps to simplify the way that we live a little, and make it so we actually use our "good dishes" more often.
These are just simple cupcakes that I turned upside down and dipped them into icing. Then I just turned them right side up and stacked them on a platter with a dome lid. I sprinkled Cranberries on top for an added pop of color, but this is a very pretty and simple dessert that you could customize with a fruit topping, sprinkles, candies, etc. for any occasion.
Cake stands are for so much more than just cake! Even something as simple as homemade snickerdoodles, look so much more lovely under a dome lid on a pretty stand, don't you think?
I carried the cranberries and lemon theme over into the water pitcher as well. I love how they are an unexpected pair, but are so crisp and pretty together.
So refreshing.
These little cupcake stands serve as the perfect spot for a stack of pretty winter cookies or candies.
I bought this poinsettia from a sweet girl I know who was selling them for a school fundraiser. I love that it is neutral and transitions into the winter months.... if I can keep it alive ;).
A fun little dessert table for holiday guests, by the glow of the last few moments of our Christmas tree. What kinds of things do you love to serve to your holiday guests? Are you a white plate/platter person too?
All of the serveware in today's post is Martha Stewart for Macy's.
