Thank you all for being so patient with the construction that has been going on with my blog. I am still working on tweaking things, so stay tuned! I think this is a great step in the right direction for things to be more functional and user friendly!
I love (LOVE!) the Vanilla Bean White Hot Chocolate that I shared last winter, and I created a new one with a pumpkin twist. This is so decadent and delicious without being overly sweet. It really tastes like you are drinking your favorite pumpkin pie~ but better. The real vanilla bean adds so much dimension to the pumpkin pie flavor. If you love pumpkin pie, you will LOVE this!
Spiced Pumpkin White Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 3 cups whole milk can substitute one with less fat
- 1 cup pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie filling
- 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 vanilla bean
- 1 cup white chocolate candy melts
- real whipped cream
Instructions
-
In a heavy saucepan, whisk together pumpkin puree, milk and pumpkin pie spice. Slit the vanilla bean down the center, scrape out the caviar and add it to the milk mixture. Heat milk just until steaming, NOT boiling. Remove from heat and stir in the white chocolate candy melts until completely melted and smooth. Serve immediately with a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of more pumpkin pie spice.
Recipe Notes
NOTE: Make your own pumpkin spice! Find the recipe here.
I have to warn you; you may never want to eat a real pumpkin pie again. It is that delicious.
