A couple weeks ago, Ella and I ran out to run errands and ran across some gorgeous peonies at our local grocery store. I know this sounds a little ridiculous, but I almost cried. I love peonies so much and I look forward to them every spring. I thought that I had missed the window to buy them and I was pretty bummed out, so when we did find them I was thrilled. We ran home to put them in water, and I told my hubby how happy I was to find them. He teased me a little for being so excited about a bunch of flowers, and then when I wasn't looking he ran out and bought me MORE. That man. He completely has my heart.
This weekend, we celebrated our Anniversary and I am so lucky that he is mine. I am feeling so overwhelmed with love and gratitude for this family that the Lord has blessed us with and I actually have a really exciting announcement to make today along with sharing my peony pictures. I had fun playing with these gorgeous peonies, and playing with them some more. Sometimes later in the winter, I like to look back at the cheerful pictures of my spring peonies.
But, I think this winter I will be a little busy loving on our new precious baby BOY who we are expecting in October. I have the biggest smile on my face as I type this. How fun for my little boys to be so close in age, and how lucky that we will have another sweet baby to snuggle through the holidays!
I don't know why I have been so hesitant to announce that we are expecting. I guess our baby road has been a rocky one. But, I am so happy and filled with gratitude today for this blessing. Ella is still holding out hope that I will change my mind and have a girl (because I guess in a 3 year old's mind, that is how it works... 🙂 ), but I know she will be just as wonderful to him as she is to her other little brother. She has been practicing holding all of her baby dollies and changing their diapers. I am so proud of her.
On a side note, today's 111 degree record-high temperature was pretty rough. I am hoping these temperatures die down soon! If not, you can find me out in the kiddie pool, downing the popsicles :).
I hope you have a wonderful week!

Congratulations on your baby boy! What fun you will have with him. I love peonies, also, and was thrilled to find some at Trader Joe's a few weeks ago. It made my week 🙂
