Thank you Joss and Main for sponsoring my project today!
I am SO excited to share our master bedroom reveal with you today!! This one has been a long time coming. Like years and years. I know I shared a peek during my Christmas home tour, but so much has changed even since then.
The bed we had always used in our master was one that my hubby bought before he ever met me. It wasn't really my style, but he spent a lot of money on it, so we kept it all these years. I had other house project priorities and our room always got pushed to the back burner. One time, when we put in our new carpet, we actually snapped one of the rails while moving the bed and I was so excited to have the excuse to finally get one that was more my style.... except my husband isn't just handsome, he is also very handy and, of course, he fixed it (darn! So close.)
Well, a couple of months ago I convinced him that it was time to redo our master bedroom when I bought the most gorgeous antique pine armoire of my dreams at an antique store. Actually, my friend Blair found it and lucky for me, she didn't have a place for it. And being the wonderful friend that she is, she put it on hold for me so I could go snatch it up. That is a true friend. 🙂
(sidenote- If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw the evolution of this chair. What a difference! The painting above the chair is actually one I got at an estate sale for $1 but I am on the lookout for something a little smaller. I will be sharing the chair makeover details next week)
So, back to the bed. There was a bed that I had seen a couple of times here and there online that I loved, but I only ever saw it in a queen size. I loved the finish, and especially the shape and height, but we needed a king. Lo and behold, when searching Joss and Main IT WAS THERE! And in a KING! Joss and Main is a rotating deals site, so their inventory changes regularly, but I have seen this one come available since I ordered mine. It looks like they only have a Queen right now (here), but they might get more in the future if you love it as much as I do. Another bed that is similar, that I think is absolutely amazing is this one.
The finish ended up being almost an exact match to the color of the antique pine armoire too. Is there such a thing as fate in decorating? If so, I think this was it.
Here is a little bedroom before and after...
Can you believe the difference?
One of the things that makes a huge difference is the beadboard we installed on the wall behind the headboard. It adds so much character to the room. Of course the sparkly chandelier didn't hurt either (craigslist score).
I created the bird prints above the nightstands by photoshopping images from The Graphics Fairy. I painted and distressed some cheap frames and added mats and the prints. I will be sharing those next week as well.
I am still searching for a rug for this room.
The beautiful nightstands, alarm clock, and throw are all from Birch Lane and I will be sharing more details about those on Friday.
I always love fluffy, pillowy beds that you just want to run and jump into, so I added a bunch of linens. I love the feel of all white linens, but I added just a touch of warmth and pattern with the extra duvets and patterned pillow- going with a gray, subtle blue and white theme. I actually made the patterned duvet (funny story and more on that next week). Can you tell what it is made out of? The rest of the linens are from Pottery Barn (from the store and Ebay), collected over the years.
Since my home absolutely must be as functional as possible, I tucked our sleeping pillows behind the Euros and I love how they even add fullness to the bed.
We love our sign with our song from Between You and Me.
I will be talking about our nightstands on Friday and bedding and other room sources and details on next week, so stay tuned! I already talked your ear off, so it is probably best to spread it out a little :).
Here is what I have on the schedule in case you want to check back:
Friday- nightstands | Monday- bedding | Tuesday- bird prints | Thursday- chair makeover
There are a few other details that will be shared the following week as well.
I am so happy to have a little retreat now! I think it is my favorite room in the house now.

Absolutely love your room- stumbled upon it on Pinterest! I actually had the bedsheets for my dorm in college, but have been looking for them for home & forget who they are by! Do you happen to know? Love your room & your style- super cute! Thanks! Xo

I love how cozy this looks! Your bedding choice is adorable. We just got a new mattress and it's just sitting on the floor with no frame underneath it. Thanks for linking to the ones on Joss and Main!

This room is gorgeous! So relaxing and cozy!
I especially love the beadboard wall. Did you use the big sheets of beadboard or the individual tongue and groove pieces? We have a few places we'd like to install beadboard and I'm not sure which route to go. Thanks!
