One thing that I love is pretty food and I think it is such a fun part of the summer. The freshness and colors mixed with the beauty and peace of the outdoors is something I always look forward to. For The Home Depot Patio Style Challenge Redux that I participated in this year, I wanted to be sure to include some pretty party food as a sort of kick off to summer and all of the things that I look forward to.
I added a few personal touches to make the food a little more special. These things were so quick and easy. I decorated the cake with strawberries and Pirouette cookies cut in half.
The basket tray was one I found at Pottery Barn on super clearance and I have been using it for everything. The cute French sodas are from World Market and I have also been using those everywhere. They are so adorable.
I added lemon, lime, and grapefruit slices to my water dispenser and I have to admit it was really gross. I thought the grapefruit would be good, but it added such a bitter flavor to the water so it was a big fail! At least it was pretty :).
After I was finished snapping pictures, my babies were chomping at the bit to dig into some of the treats. They had just gotten out of the tub and were all clean in their jammies, but I couldn't tell them no. Just once won't hurt, right?
This is a cute friend of ours and Ella looks up to her so much.
We have had quite a bit of rain this week, but we look forward to enjoying barbecuing out here as soon as the weather gets nicer. Ahhhhh, how I love those easy summer evenings.
