Today I am so honored to be part of Laura's Finding Fall home tour and I am so happy to have you here. I think you will love all of the Fall inspiration featured in the tour, and I will link to everyone at the end of this post.
Fall is probably my favorite season. I say probably because there are things I really love about every season, but there is just something so breathtaking about all of the beautiful colors and smells of Fall. I love the crispness of the air, the crunch of the leaves underfoot, wearing layers, and snuggling with my babies. And, of course, I love decorating.
I do love decorating for Halloween (cute, vintage Halloween). I actually have a Halloween tree that I put up every year, and I will be putting that up in the bonus room (our family room) this week. But, down here in the main part of our house I kept it simple and natural this year with simple fall touches that I found in my garden and outside. I stole some branches from my parents' trees and I am loving the pops of color.
My Ella loves to bake with me so we make lots of goodies in the Fall. It seems like every year I go on strike from baking during the hot summer months because I really don't like making the house hot with the oven. Then it seems like once the weather breaks a little bit, it is so much fun to start baking again. Our weather cooled off a little early this year and it was a really nice treat.
My sweet hubby gave me these vintage grainsack pillows for my birthday last month and I am so in love with them. I love their big size and soft, nubby texture. In the Fall, I love spaces that just make you want to snuggle up.
You might notice a few other things that are different in this room. I will be sharing more details of this space tomorrow and more about the beautiful linen Comfort Works slipcovers and the giant thrifted mirror (that I aged to look like an antique) later on in the week. I still want to add planks above the fireplace and change out the Duck Dynasty granite, so I will keep you posted!
After I saw Jeanne's post the other day, I knew I had to go out and get some wild sunflowers with my girl. I knew it would be a fun thing to do with the kids, but Ella especially thought it was so magical to have these beauties growing everywhere on the side of the road. I can't even believe how long they stay alive inside the house!
I pulled out some fake branches to stick in my office. The pop of color catches my eye every time I walk by and I love it.
Out in the garden, our sunflowers are in full bloom and our little scarecrow girl is dancing amid the pumpkins. We have harvested about half of them, but still have some to cut this week or next. Right now, we are just enjoying this happy little corner of the yard. Another fun thing about Fall is the abundance of fresh tomatoes and other garden goodies. We spend every evening picking and eating straight from the garden.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I am always so blown away by the kindness and support of this community. I have some really exciting things happening in the next couple of weeks, so

Kristen,
I love all the natural touches you put in your tour. It makes your home feel so welcoming. And of course that awesome chair with the cozy blanket. I need one of those in my life.

Gorgeous pics and I LOVE the sunflowers incorporated with the hydrangeas and berry branches! Your garden is so lovely. I could have used a few of your Baby Boos for my fall tour. I had to paint a bunch of Jack-Be-Littles because I couldn't find any in the stores last week. 🙂
