Hi! Emily here from The Wicker House.
I thought I'd stop in and share this little potting station I created.
This is the time of year that I always get so excited to start planting. Every spring I dream of having a yard full of flowers and a large garden full of veggies.
However, come summer I'm usually over the excitement of gardening and it starts to feel like a never ending chore. And sometimes I forget to water and the weeds start to take over.....But hey, at least I start out with good intentions.
I've always wanted a potting station.
Then one day I noticed that I already had the perfect spot; this half wall built right outside of our garage. It was just an empty space before.
I picked up the perfect little shelf at a yard sale for only a dollar. I just love the bright green paint on it.
I gave my boys each a pair of pliers and put them to work removing the wood from the back of the shelf. Then I had them clean off the shelf with the hose. They are such great little helpers.
I thought adding my window frame above the shelf would look great.
Under the window is a wire basket for extra storage.
I also put up an old rake head to hang my garden tools from.
And I added a hook for displaying plants.
The green shelf is perfect for storing extra garden pots.
In the corner is one of my grandma Nora's straw hats. Gardening reminds me of her because she always wore a straw hat when she was out working in the yard.
Now I am all set to get started on my plantings.
How about you, are you getting excited for garden season?
I hope that I have inspired you to create a potting station of your own. It doesn't take a whole lot of space, and it will be so nice to have everything you need in one spot.
Have a great day!
Emily

I really love your little garden station too! What I like the best about it is that you didn't feel the need to get all elaborate building a complicated potting bench. The little green, metal shelf looks great!
