I am so torn.
I have been working on trying to find bedding for Ella's room for MONTHS now and I can't seem to find exactly what I had in my head. She is 2 1/2 years old, so I want it to be really sweet. There is no doubt in her mind that she is a princess, so I want the room to be girly too.
Well, I came up with two possible combinations and I would love to get your opinion about which one to choose. I really love both of them. I have so many readers and friends that are a lot better at this than I am, so I would LOVE any feedback!!
First, let me remind you what I already have in this room.
So far, I have this fun raw pine armoire. Of course the accessories may change.
And an old Iron bed with a peach vintage chenille blanket I stole from my mom and a cream quilted comforter ... I guess this is the best picture I have of it... : /
And I have a few vintage/handmade touches in the room:
Ok, now here are my two options. They are completely different looks that I love equally.
I found this quilted throw at a local store, so I would probably just turn it into pillows since it isn't as big as her bed. I may even go back and get another one to use as a throw on the bed. It has peach, pink, and a dark red on a cream background. I love how sweet this combo is, but I am a little concerned it is a little too shabby chic...
This is just a quilted fabric that I found. I would make it into a duvet with the red striped ribbon as the ties. It has Red, peach, and a little green and brown. I love how fun it is with the pops of red, and I love that the red makes it match the rest of my house better.
Keep in mind that I will be adding some kind of woodwork to her walls in the near future.
Ok, so what do you think? Which would you pick?
Thanks for your help!

Option 2

Yep, I like option #2, as well. I agree about it looking more vintage than shabby chic. It also looks like one she could grow into more easily. I love the bright red with the pinks. Whichever you choose will look fantastic, you do a wonderful job of combining everything!

Voting for selection 2' more vintage than Shabby. However The more people give me their option the more I realize what I prefer.
Have fun.

Option 2.....hands down! The large floral fabric and touch of red w/ the choice of ribbon is a clear winner and definitely evoked the style and colors in the rest of your house. Can't wait to see the final result 😉

I love the second look. I also love having a duvet on my girls beds. It makes it easy to wash and it looks like this fabric would just get softer and softer the more it was washed.

The second one with the larger print.

I also think that using the quilted throw with the larger floral would look nice 🙂 They can call all go together!

Okay, I LOVE the one on the right! It is simply adorable with the red striped ribbon to add another pattern to the floral.. I love the bright pops of red and green in there too. The one on the left is beautiful too, so I honestly think either way you go will be lovely. But my vote is the second choice! Have fun! xo

Good morning Kristen , I pick the bed group on the left with a pillow made from the sweet floral & ribbon on the right to pull it all together !!
Have a Happy day !

I like the second choice, with the larger flower print, the best. And if it ties into the rest of your home's colors better, then it will be perfect. Her room will be adorable!

I love the 2nd one. I like that it's less expected than the typical shabby chic.

The one with the hint of red definitely!

Option Two has my vote! Very girly and bright!

Loved the first one, but when I saw the second, it was perfect! Love the bit of red, and that fabric is just so pretty 🙂

I think you could use all the fabrics together--the tiny print (on the left) for throw pillows or shams with the fabric on the right for the duvet--mix it up and add a spot or two of accent colors. Still very sweet for a little girl, but not that too cute toddler look, and as your little girl grows up this combination will still work...

Hi Kristen, I love the one on the left, it's a great combination!

The second one! I definitely like the grouping on the right better. I've been working hard throughout my house to tone down the "shabby chic" and go a bit more rustic industrial, so I definitely understand your shabby-chic hesitation. I want it to still be feminine (our husbands and sons can just deal, right?), but not so country. Does that make sense? I tend to think of tiny florals as leaning towards more precious, while the big bold print on the right strikes me as super cute and playful, while still being modern enough not to look country-ified. Also, the hits of red on the right are so you 🙂

All of the above! I think both of the fabric choices work beautifully together! Love the color scheme.
