I love the 4th of July! There is just something so fun about seeing the American flag flying everywhere, enjoying laid back barbecues with family and friends, and dressing in red, white and blue while staying up late to watch the fireworks! I feel so very blessed to live in this great land that my grandfather, great uncle, great grandfather and so many others fought to protect.
I am planning a little shindig for the 4th with some family, so I was excited for this challenge to plan ahead and style some of World Market's fun 4th of July decor and entertaining items. As funny as it sounds, I think my favorite thing might be this American flag centerpiece- at just over $1 per flag, it is a very budget friendly way to create a big statement. I also like that the flags are a bit bigger than the ones you typically find in stores. I just stuck them in a jar of beans and called it good. So easy!
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I have been out picking berries at our local Berry Ranch several times over the past few weeks- strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. I have been canning our jam for the year and we have eaten plenty too! They are so amazingly delicious. Here, I just added them to a vanilla pudding cake from a local bakery. Super easy and delicious. As much as I love to cook and bake, sometimes I love just picking up treats at the bakery to make life a little easier.
One thing I wanted to add was a fun little infused water bar with these cute dispensers and festive cups. It looks like the cups are out of stock online, but you might be able to find them in stores still. My kids love infused water, so I am trying out different kinds. If you have any good suggestions, please share in the comments! I think they are so refreshing and perfect for those hot days.
I love pillows (just ask my husband- he thinks I have a problem-ha), and I love how these made the whole space look so cheerful and festive (here, here, here). I will probably spray the patriotic ones with fabric protectant so they don't fade out here.
Overall I went with a theme of red, white and blue, and galvanized metals. I added a bunch of delicious texture with the runner, braided chargers, wood slices, cups and blue crochet edged napkins. I love that it feels special without feeling stuffy at all.
I am excited to have our family over to enjoy a barbecue out here on our patriotic patio. The hubby always loves an excuse to fire up the grill while I always love an excuse to decorate for holidays. 🙂
For my American friends, what are you doing for the 4th?
